The Page of Cups

The Page of Cups card shows a young man standing alone at a sea shore with water flowing in waves behind him. He wears a long scarf over a blue tunic with flowers printed on it.

He holds a golden goblet in one hand while his other hand is placed on his waist.  As the young man tries to raise the goblet to drink from it, strangely enough a fish pops out of it.  The expression shows that this is something he never expected.
 
It appears to be delivering an educative message to the young man. The message is that sometimes, things happen all of a sudden, beyond our wildest thoughts and expectations. It is up to you how you react to them.

One way is to remain ready for such occurrences and make the most of them. For example, the young man has two choices. He may eat the fish while enjoying his drink. The other option is that he can spoil his pleasure by throwing away the drink itself.  As with this example, you always have a choice and it is upto you which road you take.
