The difference between a clairvoyant and a medium

We live in a world where some people claim that they can see the dead, some say that they can see and predict the future for you, and some can even talk and relay messages for a deceased person for closure and peace. These people are called Mediums and Clairvoyants.

People often confuse mediums to be the same as clairvoyants; to ordinary human beings it doesn’t matter as it both sounds like they do the same spiritual practices. However, contrary to the common belief, there is a difference between the incorporeal practices directing the elements of future prediction, the spirits and aura of the two.

Mediums are known to have the ability of seeing, talking, and communicating with the dead. They serve as the bridge of one person to another deceased person in the other dimension to be able to transfer and conduct information, relay messages to discover secrets or truths about the deceased.

Mediums have a special gift of elevated sense of sight and they can see souls clearly. Given this gift, they can help the deceased to be at peace when it is being troubled and cannot pass through the afterlife. The gift of the mediums are given to them since their births, therefore they have no discretion but to see the dead spirits on a daily basis.

And as for Clairvoyants, these are the people with the “third eye” and they can tell you about your future, your aura and your vibration. They can read you and your natural force; what lies beneath and what is there to come. Some of the blessed clairvoyants can see and read a person upon seeing them for the first time; they can sense physical, mental and spiritual vibrations.

Clairvoyants have the power to reveal hidden secrets and therefore, they can tell whether or not someone is deceptive, untrustworthy and dishonest. They help other people who come to them by looking into their pasts and discerning into their futures and provide them with a healthy advice to move on with life and have the chance for better growth and development.

There are also different forms of clairvoyance; such as clairsentience, clairaudience, and claircognizance. Clairsentience – “clear sensing” – this means having the ability to sense the past, the future, the physical and the emotional state of a person without exploiting the five main senses. It is best believed that in order to develop clairsentience, you must practice deep meditation in order to stimulate free flowing energy and may lead you to your “sixth sense.”

While Clairaudience – “clear hearing” – means having the ability to hear sounds and voices of spirits, internally and externally, that no other ordinary individual can hear. Some may actually confuse this of having a mental illness but the difference is that clairaudients and can control the voices that they hear. Some of the signs of being a clairaudient are hearing footsteps, buzzing in your ears and creaking noises, and the propensity of talking to yourself.

With claircognizance – “clear knowing” – means that these extraordinary people can cultivate spiritual knowledge, not knowing the reason behind it. The information of a person, a place or an event just gets to them, without having memories of it. It could be hard for them to prove and be confident with the information that they get as it just comes without further explanation and interpretation.

Overall, it is safe to say that Mediums are also Clairvoyants but it is not technically the other way around. Also, another fact that should be remembered is that mediums also have the ability to see and connect with other supernatural beings such as nymphs, sprites, elves, fairies and preternatural beings such as angels and demons, other than the dead.
