  1. The Sixth Sense

This movie was directed by M. Night Shyamalan. Dr. Crowe, played by Bruce Willis, attempts protect as he discovers the supernatural aptitudes that an eight-year old boy, who was played by Henry Joel Osment, experiences.

 

  1. Minority Report

This movie starred Tom Cruise, who played a man named John Anderton in the year 2054. Anderton works for an organization who’s always right about the predictions of upcoming crime and events, made by three of the organization’s psychics. It is based from the short story of Philip K. Dicks who is known to be obsessed with mind control.

 

  1. The Gift

This movie was directed by Sam Raimi, and written by Tom Epperson and Billy Bob Thornton. It is about a woman called Annie, who is gifted with psychic vision and is forced to counteract demons while she solves the mystery about the assassination of a girl.

 

  1. Over her dead body

This is a sci-fi/comedy/drama movie that stars Paul Rudd, Eva Longoria, Lindsey Sloane, Jason Biggs and Lake Bell. Henry and Kate were going to get married when Kate died on their wedding day. He wanted to move on so had a consultation with Ashley for closure, unaware that they are falling in love with each other. The soul of Kate then tries to sabotage the budding love story.

 

  1. The dead zone

A teacher that has been comatose for five years, wakes up and founds out that he has psychic abilities. He can not only see the future but he can also change it. The director of this film is David Cronenberg and this is a Stephen King masterpiece.

  1. Hereafter

The main character, George – an American, can communicate with the spirits who are dead. In a different part of the world, Marie had stumbled upon an almost-death experience that changed her life. The plot is how they become connected to each other.

 

  1. Premonition

Linda, the main character, was informed that her husband died. What scared her the most is seeing him alive the following day. She gets the premonition and it intensifies up to the point that she tries to stop the death.

 

  1. Carrie

The film was adapted from the novel of Stephen King. It was directed by Kimberly Pierce. It’s about a shy, young girl named Carrie White, who learns that she is telekinetic. She lives with her very religious mother who thinks she has been corrupted the devil.

 

  1. The Fury

The movie was directed by Brian de Palma and was based on John Farris’ novel. It’s about a father, Peter played by Kirk Douglas, who searched for his son, Robin played by Andrew Stevens. Peter believes that his son was kidnapped by an organization interested with psychics, led by his former friend, Ben Childress who was portrayed by John Cassavetes.

 

  1. The Shining

Another movie that was based on one of Stephen King’s novels, The Shining was directed by Stanley Kubrick. It is about a family who check in a secluded hotel where there are wicked spirits who swayed the father to become violent. The son is a psychic and he can see premonitions regarding the past and the future of the place.

 

  1. E. T.: The Extra-Terrestrial

E.T. was written by Melissa Mathison and was produced and directed by the famous Steven Spielberg. The movie was about a boy who becomes friends with an alien who was unable to leave the Earth. Elliot, the boy, along with his friends, helped ET escape without exposing him to the authorities and to his mother.

 

  1. Poltergeist

This movie was written and produced by Steven Spielberg, though he couldn’t direct it as he has another movie that he is committed to which was the E.T. So instead,Tobe Hooper directed, Poltergeist. The movie is about a family whose daughter was abducted by malevolent ghosts in their home.

There are actually more movies like these but the ones on the list are the best movies in relation to psychic powers and abilities. Sometimes, after watching films like these, we wonder how it is when you are the one who can talk, see and communicate with spirits.
